i obviously haven't posted in a while as the social media world seems to have lost it's pull on me over the past few months, but for some reason i feel the desire to post a few simple updates...
- i did face some different fears (aside from the bee) in 2011 and had some great experiences doing so.
- my hernia (introduced here) is now gone :( as it was repaired on march 2nd by dr anderson. i do indeed feel its loss.
- i have finally given in to the ridiculous new-ish rule of only 1 space after a sentence and am attempting to incorporate it into my typing. tho i must state my three very strong and passionate opinions on this rule change...
- if it ain't broke don't fix it.
- my thumb double spaces on its own and this is a rather difficult habit to change. my pinky is getting lots of backspace practice now.
- i think two spaces look better. i don't care what arguments the "professionals" use regarding typesetting, font design, or the obsolescence of the typewriter.
- as of today, i still refuse to use capital letters in my personal typing and wish that i could do so in the professional world (tho i realize that that's not an option).
- i really like to exercise and am missing it. i'm still technically recovering from my hernia surgery and must continue to wait for a few more weeks.
- i am really grateful to my husband and for his well played part in helping me become a better person.
- i am really grateful to my mother for tenderly and lovingly caring for and dressing my wounds for so many years and would actually appreciate her giving lessons to brennen who has a more practical approach to wound dressing that i'm not quite so appreciate of... (please talk to him for his side of the story, i'm sure he would like the opportunity to defend himself.)
- i still work with the 12 and 13 year old young women (beehives) in my church ward. i absolutely love my calling and i absolutely love my girls. i have some major emotional problems when any one of them turns 14...
- i have started rereading the book of mormon with brennen, but we have decided to start with the book of moroni and work backwards for a different perspective. (for those of you unfamiliar with the book of mormon, moroni is the last book in that scripture. if we were reading the old testament it would be like reading the book of malachi first, then zechariah, then haggai and so on...)
- the last (for today) but not least update of 2012-to-date: my family is celebrating the life and mourning the passing of my dear auntie beth. her body succumbed to ovarian cancer in february after fighting the disease for two years. if you desire to read a nice obituary that my mother wrote, please click here. i will certainly miss my auntie for the remainder of my earthly life, but i know that 1) i will see her again 2) she is in a place now that's free of her cancer and the cares of this world and 3) i have wonderful memories that will last until i do get to see her again. below is a picture of my auntie and me when i was either still in high school or just graduated from high school when we visited a madrigal fair somewhere in or near seattle. (how's that for remembering details?)
just the same as everyone else's, my year is off to an all-over-the-place start. it's had some good and bad, some good in the bad, and some bad in the good. to say it better than i can, i will close with a well known scripture:
Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
- To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.
- A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
- A time to kill, and a time to heal, a time to break down, and a time to build up.
- A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.
- A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing.
- A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
- A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
- A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
may you all have a great 2012!! (oh, and please don't judge me if i accidentally double spaced after a sentence. this blog post, in fact, is my first attempt at applying the new-ish rule.)

I love you. That is all.
ReplyDelete(I'm sure, that is to say I very much hope, that we will have the opportunity to discuss in detail the points contained in this post.)
